Elder abuse comes in many forms. Financial elder abuse occurs whenever another person – whether a trusted friend, loved one, caregiver, or stranger – wrongfully takes possession or control of an elder adult’s property. Now more than ever, it’s important to know that physical abuse and neglect of an elder may occur whenever a person is entrusted with the care of an elder. As with financial abuse, the abuser may be a paid caregiver or a family member, and the abuse may come in the form of physical harm, neglect, isolation, or even psychological manipulation and cruelty..
“I’m really honored to be speaking at the EBTEL event!” says Loew. “This is a very important topic and as a litigation attorney, my primary areas of practice include trust and estate litigation (including will and trust contests), fiduciary litigation, and financial elder abuse actions.”
